The Isfahan University of Technology is one of the most famous and top universities in Iran. The university was founded in 1352 SH (Solar Hegira) (1974 AD) and began academic activities three years later in 1355 SH (1977 AD). In this article. We are going to introduce the university in brief.

Global Ranking

The Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) has been always playing its role as a pioneer in the science and technology areas and is one of the top Asian universities in the universities global ranking. In the Shanghai University Ranking System, the university achieved ranks among the 700 and 1000 top universities between 2017 and 2020.

Faculties

Located on a piece of land with an area of 5863 acres and including 14 faculties, about 11000 students, and 600 faculty members, Isfahan University of Technology is a higher education center of greatest importance in Isfahan province and the country, Iran as well. Engineering, sciences, agriculture, natural resources and the fields related to them in three levels of bachelor, master and doctoral degrees are the main higher education branches in Isfahan University of Technology.

The main campus of the university occupies 988 acres and looks like a small town, including educational and research buildings and dormitories. There are an Agricultural Faculty with 10 departments and Engineering Faculty with 9 departments, three Departments of Basic Sciences, and a Natural Resources Department with three different branches, seven research centers, and a large number of research teams in the Isfahan University of Technology. The university has a special place in the industry of Iran and has done more than 2,000 research projects in different industrial sections, leading to establishing a link between the labor market and industry on the one hand and academic education on the other hand.
